The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) is reportedly preparing to consider new ownership for Multan Sultans ahead of the new season of the Pakistan Super League (PSL).
The ownership rights of the teams in PSL will end in December, 10 years after the start of the tournament.
Ali Tareen Khan is in danger of being blacklisted
The current owners need to bid again to retain ownership of the teams. However, Multan Sultans owner Ali Tareen Khan is at risk of being blacklisted due to the ongoing conflict with the PCB.
Tareen has not shied away from criticizing the PCB management in recent months over lack of transparency and communication gaps. Recently PCB had sent him a legal notice due to which the matter has become more heated. The PCB demanded a public apology from Tareen, but he once again made a mockery of the cricket board.

PCB reached out to two potential investors
With relations between the PCB and Tareen soured, reports in the Pakistani media said the cricket board was considering new ownership for the Sultans.
Reports have claimed that if the dispute between PCB and Tareen is not resolved in the coming days, then the ownership of the franchise may be handed over to a new owner. The report also states that the PCB has already reached out to two potential investors interested in purchasing the franchise.

Multan Sultans owner takes a dig at PCB!
Earlier this week, Ali Tareen Khan had issued a sarcastic apology to the PCB in response to its legal notice. In an almost five-minute long video posted on his social media account, Tareen used a sarcastic tone while apologizing. He also criticized the PCB, saying that the board wants to be surrounded by ‘yes-sayers and sycophants’.
“You don’t even want to work with your stakeholders,” Tareen said. “You can’t tolerate criticism from anyone. If you were at all competent, you would know that this is not the way to manage things.”
He said, “Only a grown man apologizes. I apologize for wanting to make the PSL better. I apologize for raising my voice when I saw problems. It’s my fault, not yours, that I was dissatisfied with your mediocre mentality. I apologize for being unhappy that you give yourself so much credit for doing so little.”
He criticized the PSL and the way it was organised. Tareen concluded her video by tearing the legal notice in half.
