A heated argument broke out between Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer while batting during the ongoing second ODI between India and Australia at the Adelaide Oval, Adelaide.
India had a very poor start in batting after Australia captain Mitchell Marsh decided to bowl first after winning the toss.
India suffered initial setbacks
Xavier Bartlett put Australia in the driver’s seat by dismissing Shubman Gill and Virat Kohli in the 7th over. He first dismissed Gill for 9 runs and then dismissed Kohli for a duck in four balls.

Rohit Sharma, Shreyas Iyer engage in animated exchange:
After the double blow, Rohit Sharma and Shreyas Iyer steadied the ship for Team India. They also engaged in an animated exchange as they were reconstructing the innings. The incident occurred in the 14th over when Rohit Sharma was facing Josh Hazlewood with Shreyas Iyer at the non-striker’s end.
On the fifth ball of the over, Hazlewood bowled a back-of-length ball on the stumps and Rohit tried to flick it but missed. The ball hit him well above his pads and rolled on the ground.
With no fielders nearby, Rohit Sharma wanted a quick signal, but his offer was turned down by Iyer. However, the former India captain was not at all happy with Iyer’s reaction and was seen expressing his disappointment. The camera captured Rohit saying something to Iyer in an animated manner as if he was complaining about something.
