Former Indian spinner Ravichandran Ashwin has exposed a fraudster who impersonated Australian cricketer Adam Zampa and asked for the phone numbers of several Indian cricketers.
The stardom of cricketers is undoubtedly spread among people all over the world. Cricket has been a much-loved sport and there have been many incidents where fans often resort to strange acts to get closer to their cricket icons.
Former cricketer Ravichandran Ashwin, who played for many years in the IPL and also in international cricket, is known to have contacts with many cricketers around the world, and people have tried to trick him into getting the numbers of other fellow cricketers.

The Indian spinner once again found himself in an awkward situation when another fraudster impersonated Australian cricketer Adam Zampa and contacted him on WhatsApp. The person asked for the phone numbers of many cricketers.
The former cricketer even shared screenshots of the conversation on Instagram and captioned it, “Fake Adam Zampa tries to attack.” Fans loved Ashwin’s witty reply and were impressed by how he dodged the copycat.
The man impersonating Adam Zampa asked for contact details of players like Abhishek Sharma, Jasprit Bumrah, Sanju Samson, Jitesh Sharma, Rinku Singh and Shivam Dubey. Even Ashwin agreed that he would send him immediately.
After this, he asked for the number of former CSK captain MS Dhoni and rejected it. The fake Zampa also replied that he had it, and Ashwin asked for the number in return.
In the previous incident, a person impersonating Devon Conway was sending messages to Ashwin.
This was not the first encounter with online fraudsters for Ashwin, as he had revealed a previous incident where a person impersonated his former Chennai Super Kings teammate Devon Conway.
‘Hi friend, how are you?’ And I also replied, ‘We will keep in touch. You are playing in MLC; I will watch the game. After this Conway asked for Virat Kohli’s phone number, due to which Ashwin immediately became suspicious.

Finally, Ravichandran Ashwin recently defended fast bowler Harshit Rana after he raised questions over his inclusion in India’s ODI squad against Australia. He further said that no player should be attacked below the belt, as personal attacks on players can be painful for the players as well as the families of the cricketers.
Harshit Rana got equal support from Indian coach Gautam Gambhir; However, while playing the first match on the Australia tour, he was trolled after getting out for just 1 run and then he did not get any wicket in the match as well.
Ravichandran Ashwin clarified his opinion on Harshit Rana, saying, “We can certainly criticize his skills, his cricketing style and the business he is doing. But it should not be personal. It may be funny once or twice, but it should not be a running theme.”
