Indian national cricket team batsman Rinku Singh, who also plays for Kolkata Knight Riders (KKR) in the IPL, has reportedly been threatened by a man named Navid, who has links to the underworld. According to the report of NDTV, the person had demanded Rs 5 crore from Rinku Singh.
Sources revealed that the Indian batsman has been receiving messages from Naved since February 2025. It all started with a humble request for financial help, but now it has turned into a serious extortion threat linked to the underworld.

Naved initially approached Rinku as a fan, praising her performance and her efforts on the field, while also politely requesting financial help as the cricketer is helping needy youngsters in their dreams.

In his first message, the blackmailer described himself as Rinku’s biggest supporter and expressed hope for her success before asking for help in a harmless manner.
As per NDTV report, the first message on April 5 read, “Hope you are well. I am your biggest fan, and I am very happy that you are playing for the KKR team. Rinku sir, I hope you continue your tireless efforts. One day you will reach the pinnacle of your career. Sir, I have a request; if you can help me financially, Allah will bless you more, Inshallah.”
Rinku Singh’s security under scanner
Within a few days, Naved’s messages became more direct and powerful. By April 9, he demanded Rs 5 crore from Rinku and told her that he would arrange the time and place to collect the money. The second message on April 9 read, “I want Rs 5 crore. I will arrange the time and place. Please send your confirmation.”
When Rinku did not respond, Naved issued a serious threat to the cricketer. On April 20, the extortionist sent a final message mentioning the notorious crime organization D-Company. The last message was simply “Reminder! D-Company”.
Notably, D-Company is a well-known organized crime group founded by India’s most wanted Dawood Ibrahim. The syndicate is involved in illegal activities, including drug trafficking, extortion, kidnapping, contract killings and underworld activities.

Mumbai Crime Branch has confirmed a ransom demand of Rs 5 crore from Rinku Singh.
Meanwhile, Mumbai Crime Branch has reportedly confirmed the creepy ransom plot against Rinku Singh. He confirmed that the group funded by Dawood Ibrahim sent three messages to Rinku’s campaign team demanding Rs 5 crore. Even Mohammed Dilshad and Mohammed Naveen were arrested as suspects.
Earlier, Naveen and Dilshad had tried to extort Rs 10 crore from Zeeshan Siddiqui, son of late MLA Baba Siddiqui. One of the suspects admitted to calling Rinku directly to ask for money. Now Mumbai Crime Branch officials are investigating the gang’s extensive network and are providing security to Rinku.
Recently Rinku Singh was a part of India’s Asia Cup 2025 win in UAE. In her very first match of the tournament, Rinku faced immense pressure against Pakistan and found the only ball to make an impact. With a powerful shot over mid-on on her first ball, Rinku hit the winning four and helped India clinch their ninth Asia Cup title and their second in the T20 format.
