Yuzvendra Chahal has given a sharp reaction on Dhanashree Verma’s cheating allegations.
In an exclusive interview with HT CityChahal strongly denied all allegations of fraud and expressed disappointment over how personal matters were being dragged into the public domain. Chahal stressed that he was always loyal throughout their marriage and urged everyone to move on from the controversy.
,I am a player and do not cheat. If someone cheats within two months, how will the relationship last for four and a half years? For me, this chapter is over, done and dusted. I have moved on and everyone else should do the same.” Chahal said.
The leg spinner also questioned the timing of Dhanashree’s claims, suggesting that the comments may have been aimed at attracting attention. ,Our marriage lasted for 4.5 years. If I really had cheated in the first place, why did it continue for so long? I have said earlier also that I have moved forward, but some people are still stuck there. Even today some people run their houses in my name and that is fine. “I am neither worried nor impressed.” The Indian cricketer added.
Chahal made it clear that he has no intention of revisiting this part of his life. Emphasizing the emotional conclusion, he reiterated, “I have forgotten this chapter. Anyone can say anything and the word spreads on social media. There are hundreds of things, but there is only one truth, and only those who matter know it. That chapter is closed forever for me.”
Chahal focuses on cricket and mental health
Chahal’s response reflects his determination to keep his focus on cricket and personal development rather than getting drawn into controversies. The 34-year-old player stressed that such rumors distract from the hard work and discipline required at the highest level of the game. “I’m focused on my life and my game. That’s what matters most to me now.” He concluded.
