India Will face West Indies in the second match of the two-match Test series. This article provides details about the India vs West Indies playing 11 for the second match of the series.
India Playing XI vs West Indies – 2nd Test, West Indies tour of India 2025:
Openers: KL Rahul, Yashasvi Jaiswal
To win another series on home soil, India would like to repeat the performance in the first Test against West Indies in the upcoming match.
The home team looked like a good team both with bat and ball as well in the field as almost every player played their part and will be expected to do the same in the match to be played in Delhi.
The opening pair of KL Rahul and Yashasvi Jaiswal continued their good performance in the Test series against England and made a strong partnership for the first wicket, in which KL Rahul scored a century.
This was Rahul’s second Test century on home soil after almost a decade, when he missed a double century by one run against England.
Jaiswal, on the other hand, started cautiously and changed gears after getting set, but was out in an attempt to maintain the run rate.
When KL Rahul comes out to bat in the second Test, he would like to score a match-winning century, while Jaiswal would like to convert that start into a big score.
Middle-order batsmen and all-rounders: Sai Sudarshan, Shubman Gill (captain), Dhruv Jurel (wicketkeeper), Ravindra Jadeja, Washington Sundar, Nitish Kumar Reddy.
The opening pair was followed by the middle order who took advantage of the opportunity and scored well against the inexperienced bowling line-up of the West Indies.
The run fest started by KL Rahul was carried forward by Shubman Gill, who scored his first half-century as India captain in Test matches at home, Dhruv Jurel, who scored his first Test century, and Ravindra Jadeja, who also scored a century.
The only player among the three who will be disappointed will be Glall, as he failed to convert his half-century into a big score and that is something he will be eyeing in the next match.
Among all the moments to remember, Sai Sudarshan’s form will be something that the team management would have taken note of as the left-handed batsman struggled to rotate the strike after the good start India got and was eventually dismissed by Roston Chase.
The host team will hope to score big in the next match to gain confidence for the upcoming games.
Bowlers: Kuldeep Yadav, Jasprit Bumrah, Mohammed Siraj
As far as the bowling department is concerned, it will once again be expected to do its job as it did in the first match.
The responsibility of taking wickets with the new ball and making things easy for the spinners will be on Mohammad Siraj and Jasprit Bumrah.
India are expected to go with a similar spin bowling combination of Ravindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav and Washington Sundar and will rely on them to do what these three do best, i.e. take wickets when the ball is soft.
Ravindra Jadeja also had a good Test match with the ball and played his role as the senior spinner in the team to the best of his abilities, and he will look to carry the same form in the upcoming games with the support of Kuldeep and Washington.
