What does the law say about Muniba Ali’s controversial run-out
Former Australian cricketer Mail Jones explained why Muniba Ali was given. He said that when his bat came out of the crease, the batsman was not running or divers were not going on.
According to Cricket Law 30.1.2, a batsman is considered safe if he is running or diving and is part of his bat beyond the popping crease. Muniba was believed to be out of her ground when the stump was killed, as she neither ran nor dived.
He said, “The law of cricket 30.1.2. The batsman would not be considered out of his ground out of his ground and out of his ground to diving, and after taking some part of his bat to the ground, batting beyond popping,” he said in the air.
“Later, there is a loss of contact between the ground and its person or any part of the bat, or that person and the person. So, she was not walking, she was not diving. And so, because of this fact, there was no race or diver; that is why she is given,” Jones said.
