Australia captain Mitchell Marsh faced a nightmare in Rain-Hit Second T20I against New Zealand in Mount Monggui on Friday, 3 October. Mitchell Marsh also shocked one and everyone jokingly said that he was about to retire after a scary start against black caps.

In the Nine-Over-Side second T20I game, the Australian all-rounder struggled to find his rhythm, in the first match, despite his heroines, initially managed five balls by run. He exploded Australia off 53 balls off 53 balls to guide Australia for an exciting six -wicket win.

However, Marsh could not immediately get big hits in Mount Maunaganui in the second match. Disappointment inspired him to think briefly about retiring, as his team had only nine overs to put a good total on the board against the hosts.

But the Australian captain soon found his touch, killing six in the next few delivery. Well, before Mitchell Marsh could build speed, the rain returned and forced the match to shut down. As the second T20i ended without one result, Australia maintained their 1-0 lead in the three-match T20I series.

Mitchell Marsh said in the post-match presentation, “Today the days are always difficult. We have tried our best to get a game for the crowd. The weather won today. Hopefully, tomorrow is a good day. Trophy like Chapel-Hundli has a lot of history for both teams.”

Talking about the situation in the first over, Marsh admitted his struggles, saying, “I was scoring 5 runs in a 9 -over game and never felt so much pressure throughout my career. It was good to walk; I was really going to retire myself (laughing).”

Well, the Australian captain has insisted that they are taking things lightly after playing Spilespport in the second T20I after the rain, when they were asked if they would stop the match one by one and put their hands on the trophy. Marsh said, “We will go home, no worry (laughing).”

In particular, Australia retains the Chapel-Hydali Trophy, while New Zealand can only try to level the T20I series in the final match.

Blackcaps has not won the Chapel-Hydali Trophy since 2017. The third and final T20i is scheduled at Bay Oval in Mount Maunaganui on October 4.

New Zealand expects for better circumstances in the final T20i

On the other hand, Michael Bracewell of New Zealand said he wanted to play, but the weather forced the washout. He made some adjustments from the first game and was pleased with improvement. The team expects better circumstances for the final game and appreciates fans who came out for support despite the rain.

Bracewell said in the post -match presentation, “We will see what happens tomorrow. We first made some adjustments till the second game.
