Kumar Sangakkara is likely to return as the new head coach
Former Royals coach and cricket director, Kumar Sangakkara, has played a new role within the Indian franchise. Although the franchise has not yet made a formal announcement, Sri Lankan is understood to take important decisions in consultation with the owner, Manoj Badley.
Therefore, this major swap has pointed to Sangakkara for a new set of coaches according to its preferences. It is also reported that Trevor Penny, who was the coach for Rajasthan Royals, is likely to return to the Royals franchise.
Former Indian batting coach, Vikram Rathore, will be the only coach to continue with the franchise and is believed to be working closely with Kumar Sangakkara and bowling coach Shane Bond, which may be that he can maintain his position.
Rajasthan Royals have not yet been given clarity on Sanju Samson
With the position of Sanju Samson from India, the Rajasthan Royals team is no longer clear for months. It was reported that the skipper wants to participate with the franchise, as he wants to find some opportunities between other teams in the IPL.
Sanju Samson has so far failed to perform well in the Asia Cup, which will weaken their grip in the Royals team. It is not clear how the Samson affair will come out, as it is yet to be seen whether the Indian wicket-keeper decides to continue his stay after handling the new management.
