Former Team India Spinner Sunil Joshi has been appointed as a spin bowling coach at the BCCI Center of Excellence (COE) at Bengaluru, who is taking over from Sairaj Fallele. Joshi will work with Ko Head VVS Laxman to develop and advise spin bowlers at all age levels, including the players of the current national team.
Joshi was a part of Ricky Ponting’s coaching team for Punjab Kings (PBK) in 2025 in 2025. The team led by Shreyas Iyer reached the final match, but lost to Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) in Ahmedabad. They have to find a new supporting coach before the new season.

Joshi first worked with Uttar Pradesh in domestic cricket and worked as a spin bowling advisor for the Bangladesh national team. The 54 -year -old played 15 Tests and 69 ODIs between 1996 and 2002. He has a track record of developing spin talent at both domestic and international levels.

Prior to Sunil Joshi, Cyrj Fuelle worked as a spin bowling coach at the BCCI Center of Excellence, which was formerly the National Cricket Academy (NCA), but left to join Rajasthan Royals (RR) before IPL 2025.

Sunil Joshi will work in close cooperation with the selectors
Sunil Joshi will focus on developing India’s spin talent in all formats and age groups. He will be responsible for planning and conducting training sessions, providing one-on-one technical coaching and designing personal performance plans with clear, average objectives.
He will serve as a major part of his responsibilities in close collaboration with selectors, state and national coaches, performance analysts, and power and conditioning experts.
Joshi will monitor the match fitness of players and assist in injury rehabilitation programs. He will take advantage of biomechanical analysis and GPS data to improve performance and ensure that cricketers are fully prepared for competitive matches.
