Ajit Aggarkar, the Chief Selector of the Control Board for Cricket in India (BCCI), has opened the charge of Pace Spearhead Jasprit Bumrah on the management issue.

Ajit Aggarkar said that Jasprit Bumrah has been provided with sufficient amount of rest, and he is keen to play both the upcoming series test matches against the West Indies National Cricket Team.

Earlier, it was estimated that Jasprit Bumrah would mainly focus on foreign trial matches for India to manage their work and leave the upcoming home series against the West Indies.

However, this will not happen as they have been selected in the team for the Home Test series. Bumrah will have other seam-bouling options along with Mohammad Siraj, fame Krishna and Nitish Kumar Reddy.

In the spin department, the selectors have selected Rabindra Jadeja, Kuldeep Yadav, Washington Sundar, as well as Man Axar Patel who returned.

Meanwhile, Akash Deep, Anshul Kamboj, Arshdeep Singh and Shardul Thakur, who were part of England’s 2025 India Tour, have missed the selection.

He is ready and eager to play both Test matches – Ajit Agkar on Jaspreet Bumrah

Speaking about Jasprit Bumrah, Ajit Agkar exposed how Pesar left the closing of all the important series of Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, but said he said that he has made himself available for both test matches against the West Indies, which is despite a short period.

He said, “It is a team for both Test matches. Therefore, we are available for both. We have a fair break after England. They have not played the fifth Test. It has been a month or five weeks break,” he said in response to PTI Query.

“The tournament (the ongoing Asia Cup where Bumrah is playing here) has been excluded to a large extent. He is ready and both are eager to play the Test match,” Agarkar explained.

I wish we could give 15 or 20 tests to all – Ajit Agarkar

The chairman of the BCCI Selection Committee further said that Devdutt Padikkal converted Karun Nair into a Test squad as later was unable to influence limited opportunities.

He said that Devdutt Padikal has the ability to offer slightly more than Nair, and he has been around the test setup for some time, corresponding to its performance.

“We think Padikkal offers a little more at this point and I want us to give 15 or 20 tests to all. Unfortunately, it does not work in that way,” Agarkar said.

Former Pesar said, “The dignity has been in the test squad. Clearly, we had a little more expectation from Karun in England. Devdutt was in Test Squad in Australia, played against England in Dharmasala, and he got 50. He showed some decent looks within the race.”

In particular, Karun Nair made a disappointing outing on his return to test cricket on England’s tour, as he scored just 205 runs despite being suited to batting in most matches.
