Australia A. Australia A Australia A. Australia. India has disclosed a squad to India for a day-long series against the middle-order batter Shreyas Iyer of India, which has been appointed as the captain for the series starting on Tuesday, 30 September in Kanpur.
Shreyas Iyer has decided to take a six-month break from red-ball cricket due to repetition issues. However, the right -handed batsman is available for selection in white ball formats. Iyer last played for the national cricket team during the final of the Champions Trophy 2025, where India defeated New Zealand.

Shreyas Iyer withdrew a squad from India before the second informal test against Australia A. In his absence, wicketkeeper-son Dhruv Jurael captained India in the second multi-day match.
Iyer has been appointed Captain A Squad of India for the upcoming One-Day series. He replaced Patidar and Tilak Verma as captains. Earlier, Patidar was appointed captain for the first game, while Verma was slate to lead the second and third matches.
Prabhasimran Singh, Ryan Parag, Ayush Badoni, Suryash Shej, Vipraj Nigam, Nishant Sindhu, and Gurjapneet Singh have been included in the squad for the first match. Abhishek Sharma, Harshit Rana and Arshdeep Singh will join the squad for the remaining matches.
Iyer has opted for red-ball cricket due to back problems
Shreyas Iyer has opted to get out of red-ball cricket due to problems of returning after surgery in UK in 2023. He managed these issues with small breaks during the last Ranaji Trophy season.
After Karun Nair played against England in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, Iyer was expected to return to the West Indies Test series, which failed to perform. With Iyer Non -avoid, the selectors now face the task of choosing the order between India.
Meanwhile, Rajat Patidar has been appointed as the captain of the rest of India squad for the Iranian Cup clash against Vidarbha.

According to the schedule, the home team will play their first match of the series in Kanpur on 30 September. The remaining matches will be held at the same place on 3 and 5 October respectively. Meanwhile, the Iranian Cup will be held in Nagpur from 1 October.
