While writing in his column for Sportstar, the former Indian World Cup winner wrote his opinion on the Indian team. With the inaugural partnership of 105 runs by Shubman Gill and Abhishek Sharma, he reserved high praise for Indian middle-order batsman Tilak Verma.

This is because only the winner of that game will move forward in the Asia Cup 2025 finals.
