Before the upcoming two -match Test series against the West Indies, Indian cricketers Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul have resumed training at BCCI’s Excellence Center in Bangalore. In particular, they are undergoing training together for the first time after the ICC Champions Trophy 2025, where India won the title.

Rohit Sharma, retired from testing and T20I, is now focusing on improving his performance in Odices now completely. KL Rahul remains an all-format player, but has not been shown in the T20I setup since the 2022 T20 World Cup. He was dropped from India’s squad for the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 in the United Arab Emirates.

BCCI took the X (East Known as Twitter) to share a video of Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul training at the Center for Excellence in Bengaluru. Both players were engaged in workouts with strength inside the gym, assistance by trainers to improve fitness and conditioning.

In addition to gym sessions, Rohit and KL Rahul practiced batting in the nets. Two batsmen performed rhythm, control and confidence with each shot. He took advantage of the training conditions provided in BCCI facility.

Rohit Sharma last played for India in the ICC Champions Trophy 2025 final

Rohit Sharma and KL Rahul recently participated in the BCCI Center of Excellence for pre-seasons to undergo fitness tests before the upcoming matches. According to reports, both the players approved the tests and are waiting for the selection for future houses and foreign assignments.

Rohit’s last presence for India came up during the ICC Champions Trophy final, where the team defeated New Zealand and claimed the title. He announced his retirement from tests in May before the tour of England. Opener is expected to lead India in the three -match ODI series in Australia next month.

The ODI series will begin on October 19 at the Optus Stadium in Perth, followed by matches in Adelaide on 23 October and match in Sydney on 25 October. Rohit took a brief break after the IPL 2025 season.

KL Rahul prepared to play in the match for India on the 2nd day

KL Rahul has been included in India’s squad for the second match against Australia A, which is scheduled on 23 September at Ekna Stadium in Lucknow. This would be his first professional appearance since the five-trial series against England, which ended in a draw 2–2.

During the tour of England, Rahul was India’s third largest run-scorer, collecting an average of 532 runs in 53.20, including two centuries and two half-centuries. His frequent performance was important in helping India secure a rare series on English soil.

Rahul also monitored his ninth and tenth exam in England for centuries, which became the first Indian opener and only the second Indian, after Dilip Vengsarkar for several centuries in Lord’s, the second Indian. He added an 188 -run stand with Captain Shubman Gill, helping India to secure the draw in the fourth Test.
