The Asia Cup has been observed by a handshake controversy after a group-phase match between India and Pakistan on 14 September. Former Pakistan’s Pesar Mohammad Amir praised former Indian captain Virat Kohli on social media, which he calls him “the best person” amidst the controversy.

India’s players led by Suryakumar Yadav left without customary handshake with Pakistan players. The incident has caused tension between Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) and International Cricket Council (ICC). In particular, Pakistan’s match against UAE was delayed on Wednesday.

Aamir called Virat Kohli a “best player and best man” in Indian cricket history. While the post appeared for Virat Kohli, many called it a subtle excavation in the current Indian team after the No-Handshek saga.

The post quickly went viral, there was a fresh debate between cricket fans in both countries. Aamir wrote on X (East Twitter), “One thing is certain that Virat is the best player and best person in the history of Indian cricket.”

No-Handshek dispute increases between PCB and ICC

The No-Handshek controversy has created controversy between PCB and ICC. In particular, Pakistan Board President Mohsin Naqvi may face potential sanctions for repeated violations of the rules of PMOA (players and match officials).

The struggle began when the PCB demanded that the match referee Andy Pycroft would be removed from the Asia Cup, accusing him of violating the spirit of cricket. However, the ICC rejected his request twice, and Pycroft continued to look after the Games, including Pakistan’s struggle with the United Arab Emirates.

The stability of the Pakistan-UAE began an hour late on Wednesday, when the PCB was threatened to withdraw until the Pycroft was sidelined. After the conversation, the game proceeded, and Pakistan defeated UAE by 41 runs to secure the Super Fur Remach against India.

PCB confirmed that Andy Pycroft apologizes to Captain, Coach and Team Manager

Just before the game began against the UAE, the Pakistan Cricket Board issued a statement stating that Andy Picroft had apologized to Captain Salman Ali Aga, coach Mike Hessen and the team manager.

The PCB then released a video of Pycroft, which was speaking with the group, but the clip was muted, which did not clear the actual content of the conversation.

ICC CEO Sanjog Gupta informed the PCB that the rules were violated by filming the players and match officials. Under the anti -corruption code, the phone has been strictly banned in that area, and the manager of the Pakistan team was found to break the rule.

The ICC is now considering whether disciplinary action or financial penalty should be taken, as the board’s effort to prove Picroft’s forgiveness could have created an even bigger controversy.
