Mohammad Nabi’s record-breaking blitz ends with a dramatic run-out
But the scorching knock of the prophet ended dramatically. On the last ball of the final over, Dunith Vellay finally managed to bowl close to a yorker, which was squeezed by the prophet to a deep backward point. He worked hard for the second run, but the throw came quickly.
Kusal Perera’s sharp fielding and quick flicks of Kusal Mendis on the stump caught the prophet well with his crease. Nabi scored 60 runs with only 22 balls, 60 runs with 3 fours and 6 huge sixes. He broke one fifty in just 20 balls, which was equivalent to the fastest half -century record by an Afghan in T20Is.
Earlier in the Asia Cup 2025, Azmatullah Omarjai also hit 20 balls against Hong Kong fifty. The prophet already has another quick fifty for its name, which came in 21 balls against Ireland.
