In a recent development, the International Cricket Council (ICC) has issued a warning to the Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) for “violating several tournament rules” in the Asia Cup 2025. The ICC sent an email to PCB about filming of banned sectors before its Asia Cup with Asia with UAE.
On September 17, the match between Pakistan and UAE at Dubai International Stadium delayed more than an hour. In particular, the team refused to take the field in response to the match’s decision despite several requests to remove the match referee Andy Pycroft in response to the ICC decision.
PCB shared a muted video with match referee Andy Picroft on social media

After the ICC rejected the request, PCB wrote another letter on the eve of its game against UAE. On the day of the match, the players were instructed to stay in the hotel, while the PCB included Chairman Mohsin Naqvi and former chief Najam Sethi and Ramiz Raja.
The PCB later posted on social media that Pycroft had apologized to his camp. He also shared a video on X, showing a Zimbabwe officer in a conversation with Captain Salman Ali Aga, the manager placed Akram Cheema and coach Mike Hessen in the referee’s room, but the audio was muted.
ICC prepared strict action against PCB for ‘violation laws’ in Asia Cup
The ICC wrote an email to PCB for violating the rules within the players and match officials sector (PMOA). CEO Sanjog Gupta described frequent filming in restricted areas as serious misconduct and violation of tournament protocol.
A source in the tournament told PTI, “ICC CEO Sanjog Gupta wrote to PCB that the PMOA is guilty of repeating the day on the board match. PCB is in the email.”
The PCB has not yet responded to an email sent on 17 September, the day his match was delayed by an hour. After receiving another strong warning, it is not clear how PCB will react.
