As a result, the group match between Pakistan and the UAE that was scheduled to begin at 6:30 pm local time, eventually started an hour late on 17 September.

In particular, Pakistan crushed the United Arab Emirates by 41 runs to take them out of the ongoing Asia Cup 2025 and secured their place in the Super Four.

Interestingly, the same ICC match referee, Andy Pycroft, stood on the field, when Pakistan captain Salman Ali Aga and UAE captain Muhammad Wasim finally moved out for the toss.

In the last four days, Andy Picroft’s name has been trending everywhere, with the explosive demand of the Pakistan Cricket Board, he has been removed from his game.

PCB demands the removal of Andy Picroft, ICC refused a bow

The drama began on 14 September after the struggle of the High-voltage India-Pakistan. The PCB sent the first email to the ICC, a day after India’s seven -wicket victory, claimed that the Pacroft had failed to implement the code of conduct in the pikeroft toss, as both the captains had not shook hands,

The ICC quickly reviewed the matter and supported Pycroft, saying that the match referee worked as per the instructions of the Asian Cricket Council, which was issued by irony by ACC president Mohsin Naqvi and anyone other than Mohsin Naqvi, who is also the head of the Pakistan Cricket Board.

The International Cricket Council also reported that Pycroft had managed the situation well and left any strange moments on live television. But PCB was not satisfied. He sent another email and demanded the removal of Picroft, even threatened to withdraw from the Asia Cup if his demand was ignored.

The ICC stood firmly and made it clear that they could not change the referee just because a team wanted it in this way, and it would set a dangerous example for the future. Even when the ACC threw its weight behind the Pakistan Cricket Board, the ICC refused to accept their demand.

PCB claims become flat in Asia Cup 2025 drama

By 16 September, the ICC considered the case closed. But the Pakistan Cricket Board was not yet done.

On 17 September, he removed another email; He alleged that there were more violations during and after the India-Pakistan match and once again questioned the role of Picroft.

The ICC immediately asked for more information, but is still waiting for a proper response. In the midst of the storm, Picroft himself invited Pakistan captain Salman Ali Aga, team manager Neveda Akram Cheema and head coach Mike Hessen to their room at Dubai International Stadium.

Pycroft reportedly stated that any misunderstanding was a purely case of misunderstanding. A silent video of this meeting is going viral on social media, PCB called it “forgiveness”.

But the ICC internal sources claimed that it was not forgiven; Rather, it was only an explanation, because Pycroft did not do anything wrong.

Despite six emails, countless calls, and fiery exchanges, Pycroft still finished the game and remains on duty for the rest of the tournament.
