Pakistan batsman Sam Ayub has recorded his third consecutive duck in the Asia Cup and is now the third most duck for Pakistan in T20. He was tagged as Babar Azam’s ‘updated edition’ by fellow batsman Fakhar Zaman before the start of Asia Cup 2025.
The Pakistan cricket team is already facing immense insult as Indians refused the customary ritual of joining hands with them. He has been further humiliated as his board urged a boycott and then back down from taking adventurous steps.
He delayed the much awaited competition between Pakistan and the UAE, but despite all, nothing was going in his favor. The match began after an hour’s delay, and yet, nothing seemed to be according to his plan.

Saim Ayub is now third in the list of most ducks in T20Is for Pakistan
Despite being praised for his promising performance in the small format of the game, Sam Ayub has failed to celebrate with the bat. However, he has surprisingly been very promising with the ball, as he is also handed over the ball in the power play, and he has distributed it with perfection.
In the first game, he returned with a 2/8 figure in his two overs after handing over the new ball with Shaheen Afridi. While he was the only wicket -taking of Pakistan against India, where he once again shared a new ball with Afridi. Ayub rejected all three batsmen in the Indian lineup and ended with the best figures of 3/35 out of their 4 overs.
However, his brilliant growth as a bowler cannot shade his bad look as a batsman. He is now third in the list of most ducks for Pakistan, Omar Akmal tops the list, followed by former Pakistan captain Shahid Afridi.
Most of the ducks for Pakistan in T20i:
10 – Umar Akmal (79 Sarai)

Fakhar Zaman, warrior for Pakistan
Pakistan was sent to bat first by the UAE captain. However, the side is on the verge of another insult. Pakistan batsmen have fought the UAE bowlers to play and have lost wickets at regular intervals. With the game being played about 15 overs in the game, they have not reached even a 100 -run milestone.
Fakar Zaman stabilized the innings for some time, with the captain. However, it was only Fakhar that scored most of the runs, as the skipper once again failed to score quick runs with the bat.
Simranjit Singh’s double-vick changed the syllabus of the game, as he rejected Fakhar just after the batsman reached half a century. He returned to Pakistan with his 6th blow as Khushdil Shah. At the time of writing, Pakistan was 102/6 with Mohammad Nawaz and Mohammad Harris at the crease.
