Former Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) cricketer Chris Gayle recently revealed his favorite rival to dominate the Indian Premier League (IPL). Gayle also nominated two memorable T20 leagues worldwide, ignoring tournaments like Pakistan Super League (PSL) and Big Bash League (BBL).

Chris Gayle, known as “Universe Boss”, was an explosive batsman in T20 cricket. He scored more than 14,500 runs in his brilliant career. The left -handed batsman has depicted almost every major franchise league around the world, which has most T20 runs in the IPL for RCB and Punjab Kings (PBK).

On Shubhankar Mishra’s YouTube channel, Chris Gayle was asked about his favorite IPL opponent dominating. Gayle revealed that he enjoys playing against strong teams. The experienced opener said that he enjoyed facing Kings Xi Punjab (now Punjab Kings) before joining him.

“You know, it used to be Kings Xi Punjab and then I joined. Naah, I like to play against a strong rival. Even though I don’t get it often, but Mumbai,” Gayle said.

Asked if he enjoyed facing the Jasprit Bumrah, Gayle said that defeating Mumbai gave him more feeling of satisfaction as he is such a strong opponent.

“Yes, when you defeat Mumbai, this is a better feeling. You know, they are big guns,” Gayle said.

When asked about his most memorable T20 league, Chris Gayle mentioned IPL and CPL. Gayle said that he won his first title with Jamaica Tallwa in the Caribbean Premier League. He also recalled his successful run with Royal Challengers Bangalore in the IPL despite not winning the trophy.

“Okay, I am going to mention two. This is IPL and CPL. I used to play for Jamaica Tallwa. Played for him for the first time and won the title as well. Earlier to really really lift the cup in CPL. So it was something fantastic.”

“I didn’t get a trophy with RCB, but I had an unprecedented time with him. Some great times, met some great people. So yes, it was just fantastic.”

Gayle had an IPL career from 2009 to 2021, representing Kolkata Knight Riders, Royal Challengers Bangalore and Punjab Kings. Southpo scored 4,965 runs in 142 matches, including six centuries and 31 fifties, and 357 with records for most sixes in IPL history.

Gayle broke an unbeaten 175 against Pune Warriors, setting records for the highest personal score in a T20 match. He played 85 games for RCB, scoring 3,163 runs at 43.33 with a strike rate of 152.73.

The left -handed batsman depicted in four sessions for PBK, scoring 1,339 runs in 41 matches, which included an average of 36.18 and one century and 10 fifties. He last played his IPL match for PBK against Mumbai Indians in 2021.

Overall, Gayle scored 14,562 runs from 463 T20 Games, including 22 centuries and 88 fifties, most T20 runs and records for centuries.
