Rana’s centenary controversy
The irony is that the night was related to Nitish Rana, who played one of the biggest knocks in DPL history. His unbeaten 134, 15 sixes and 8 fours off 55 balls were packed, sealed a remarkable victory for West Delhi Lions and received the Player of the Match award. Nevertheless, his talent with the bat was overshraded by ugly clash with Rathi.
For Rathi, the game was double bitter. Not only did he face disciplinary sanctions, but his bowling figures – 39 runs were accepted in only two overs – highlighting a forgetful performance on the field.
