Shaw has scored an average of 23.94 in 79 IPL matches and has a strike rate of over 147. In total, they have 117 T20 to 2,902 runs at a strike rate of 151.54, including one century and 20 half -centuries.
In the 2024 IPL season, he scored 198 runs in eight matches for Delhi Capital and on an average a strike of 24.75 and 163.63. He failed to attract dialects from the franchise during the auction.

Meanwhile, the five -time champion Chennai Super Kings had a forgetful season in the IPL 2025. They ended at the bottom of the table with just four wins out of 14 matches. The team struggled with batting for most of the season, but finally showed only a slight improvement.
The initial combination of CSK failed to provide a solid start, and the initial injury of Captain Ruturaj Gikwad further weakened this side. Players like Rahul Tripathi, Rachin Rabindra, and Devon Conway struggled at the top, forcing the team to experiment with openers like Sheikh Rashid and Ayush Mahetre.
CSK needs an aggressive opener who can attack the bowlers. Shaw, with its attacker style, can be an ideal fit, while the Gaekwad going to number three will add stability and depth to the middle order.

Shaw made his international debut for India in 2018. He played five Tests, scoring an average of 339 runs at 42.37, including a century and two fifties. Shaw has also appeared in six Odis and a single T20I, with his last international outing against Sri Lanka in July 2021.
