Speaking after winning the Player of the Match for his 4/62, Madushka said he was happy to carry out plans in the death over. He said:
“I was playing after one whole in an OD cricket and was happy to perform well. We had a plan to execute in the overs of death, that’s what I was thinking and to make a good comeback.”
Meanwhile, Sri Lankan captain, Cheraith Asanka was quite happy after the victory and appreciated his bowlers for working. He said:
“Amazing game of cricket. Fought till the end, that kind of cricket. We need to learn to play well and in the end, Dilshan, Asitha and Maheshi … This is the lineup we want to see moving forward.
