The Zimbabwe National Cricket Team has suffered a big shock as his captain Craig Erwin has been dropped from the ODI series against the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team.
On Friday, August 29, Zimbabwe Cricket (ZC) confirmed through an official media release that Craig Erwin had maintained an injury that would keep him out of both ODI matches against Sri Lanka.

The first ODI between Sri Lanka and Zimbabwe is currently running at Harare Sports Club, and the second game will be played at the same place on 31 August.

Meanwhile, the ZC issued an official statement, confirming that Captain Craig Erwin suffered a calf injury on the eve of the series opener.
He has placed a grade II strain in his left calf and an old and solved grade I in his right calf. Sean Williams has changed Craig Ervin into a captain for the ODI series.
The ZC wrote in an official media release, “An MRI scan on Thursday confirmed that Erwin faced tension in his right -wing in his right and solved grade I strain with grade II strain in his left calf.”

Speaking in the toss in the first ODIs, Sean Williams greeted Craig Ervin in his recovery and was expected to return to the action soon.
Sean Williams further said that Zimbabwe players have done well against Harare and Sri Lanka and are eager to play a positive brand of cricket. He explained in detail:
“We’re going to bowl first. This is really a good wicket. If we are going to get anything from our fast bowlers to get anything from the surface, it is going early in the morning. Craig (Erwin) has a tear of grade 2 on a calf, and grade 1, we wish him all the best.
“It’s great to come back here. The support here is unprecedented. Our team actually plays well here. We have done well against their (Sri Lanka), we have performed well, we are unfortunate in some cases. We imagine our opportunities. We want to play positive cricket. Vesley comes in Madhavre.”
Meanwhile, Sri Lankan captain Charith Asanka said that he is to win the series in Zimbabwe on a large scale. He said:
‘We wanted to bowl first. We want to win the series, the first thing. We want to score around 280-290. A decent pitch appears. We are going with 7 batsmen, 4 bowlers and 3 all-rounders. ,
