For the upcoming Asia Cup 2025, India’s squad has created a storm among the cricket fraternity, with a direct purpose on Krrish Srikanth Chief Selector, Ajit Agkar. The former Indian captain has questioned Ajit Agkar’s explanation behind the shocking snub of Shreyas Iyer for the Asia Cup 2025.
Shreyas Iyer was left out of both the main squad for the upcoming continental tournament in the UAE and even the five-man reserve list for the upcoming continental tournament. Despite his blistering IPL 2025 season, he was ignored, where he scored more than 600 runs at a shocking strike rate of 175.

The former Indian chief selector believes that Shreyas Iyer’s exclusion sends a wrong message to players who continuously distribute in IPL and domestic cricket.

Srikanth was also surprised by the omission of Yashsvi Jaiswal from India’s Asia Cup 2025 squad. Young Indian openers have been brilliant in formats and have scored 559 runs in IPL 2025, which is at a strike rate of around 160. Despite this, the selectors dropped them out of the squad.
