33-year-old India National Cricket Team batsman Karun Nair has said that his half-century played an important role in the victory of visitors in the fifth Test of Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy.
Karun Nair also dropped a strong statement on India’s opener KL Rahul, who has its best series with the bat against the England National cricket team.

In the first innings of the fifth and final Test match at Kennington Oval in London, India opened Yashsvi Jaiswal and KL Rahul within 15 overs, while Sai Sudhraman, Shubman Gill and Ravindra Jadeja were also not able to play well.

Visitors were reduced to 123/5 and finally posted a respectable score of 224 runs for a good innings by Karun Nair.
Nair, who did not have a memorable comeback in the Test team, gave his best performance in the innings, scoring 57 off 109 balls with 8 fours.
That knock played a role in India’s victory, as he won by a small margin of just 6 runs, as Mohammad Sirj and Prasad Krishna wreaked havoc in the final innings.
Meanwhile, in an interview with Revsports, Karun Nair was asked to share his views on his impressive half -century in the Oval Test and he replied:
“Yes, at that time, I was very critical for myself and thought that I should have made a 100, but later reflecting it, I would say that those 57 runs were equally important in that first innings. The game was in a very difficult position and it was a very important game for us with a clearly tricky wicket.”

Karun Nair further said that he was very happy to score some important runs for India and prepare the team for a good score. He said:
“I am happy that I can get those runs for myself and the team. We kept losing wickets at regular intervals and, as I said earlier, my whole process and attention were on the creation of those small partnership and helped the team get a respectable total in that first innings.”
Talking about a picture that went viral on social media, where KL Rahul was seen comforting Karun Nair. When both were sitting on the balcony, the 33-year-old batsman clarified that there was no such thing, and it was an AI-borne photo. Karun Nair said:
“I think this is an AI (Artificial Intelligence) -Cried Picture. We were clearly sitting on the balcony, but I don’t think the picture is real and I don’t think it has happened at all. I think we should stop looking at these things. As a player, we can’t do anything to stop these things, but we can’t say anything from my end.”

KL Rahul ended the five-match Test series as the third biggest run-scorer against the England National Cricket Team, scoring 532 runs at an average of 53.20 with 532 runs.
Nair was happy to see Rahul’s batting masterclass, and he said that the batsman knows his game very well and is enjoying spending time in between. He explained in detail:
“And a word on KL (Rahul) … it is surprising to see the way he reached the entire series. It seemed that he came there with a plan, and it was easy for a opener to face a new ball day and day out to get more than 500 runs.
“The kind of start he gave to the team was amazing. It was really happy for him and I am sure he would like to keep doing these things and make these starts again. He looks like a player who knows his game really well, and it seems that he is just having fun and the way he knows, he is batting.”
