Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) and India’s pacer Bhuvneshwar Kumar supported Bumrah’s decision to play only three out of only three of the five tests in England. Bhubaneswar said that Bumrah has a unique bowling action that increases the risk of injury, saying that the selectors had no issue with the decision.
Team India head coach Gautam Gambhir confirmed that Jaspreet Bumrah would play only three of the five Tests against England before the 2025 Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy. He played three matches, and the series concluded in a draw 2–2. However, his charge management has given rise to the ongoing debate.

Speaking with Manvendra with YouTube show Talk, Bhuvneshwar Kumar said that Jasprit Bumrah is more prone to injuries due to his bowling action. Kumar said that Bumrah could have a significant impact in the matches played by him.

Kumar said, “Look, given how many years Jasprit Bumrah is playing and competing in all formats, it is difficult for anyone to maintain it.
“I had no problem with him playing in three out of five matches. The selectors were fine with him playing three out of five matches with him, as he knows what he can provide in those three matches.

Bhuvneshwar Kumar said that playing all formats causes both mental and physical stress, saying that the charge management is necessary to prolong a career. He said that Anubhav has given more confidence and tasks to Jasprit Bumrah, which helped him mature failures.
“People do not always understand how difficult it is to play in formats for so many years. Bumrah is always bowling in difficult conditions, which brings both mental and physical pressure. If you want a player to have a long career, you have to manage them somehow.”
Considering the rise of Bumrah, Bhubaneswar said: “When he came in for the first time, everyone could see that something was special. Kaushal-wise, nothing has changed; he was now as good as he is now.

Jasprit Bumrah has played 207 matches for India in the format, taking 457 wickets in 20.63, which includes 17 five-verses. In trials, the fast bowler has taken 219 wickets out of 48 matches.
Bumrah recently bowled 119.4 overs in five innings in the Anderson-Tendulkar Trophy, claiming 14 wickets in three matches, an average of 26.00 on an average and 51.28 strike rate. In particular, he took two five-wicket halls, but India lost both those matches.
Bumrah is set to return to India’s squad for the 2025 Asia Cup, which is scheduled to be in the United Arab Emirates from 9 to 28 September. India will open its campaign against UAE in Dubai on 10 September. He will face Oman in Pakistan and Abu Dhabi at the same place on 14 September.
