“Yes, unfortunately, when we took a second new ball, Bumrah rolled his ankles going down the stairs, and then Sirj also I think I think his leg was rotated in one of the foothills. But he looks fine,” Morkel said after day 3.

A little energy is needed behind the ball – Morne Morkel

India’s struggle with the ball on the day 3 pitch for batting has expressed concern. Morne Morkel said that the team needs to be better customized when the surface helps. He said that Jasprit Bumrah and other bowlers lacked energy to build opportunities.

“This is something that we are definitely trying to bring our heads around. On a surface where it gets slightly flattering, you need a little energy behind the ball, and I think it is definitely one of the factors for us in our bowling innings so far – a little extra zip is available for us to make opportunities for the bus.”

For Anshul Kamboj, this is their first Test match – Morne Morkel

India bowling coach defended the performance of Debue’s debut Anusul Kamboj. Morkel said the situations, including a heavy outfield, were also challenging, but he said that there was no lack of intentions despite the difficult day.

“For Ansul, this is their first Test match ever, and it is important for us that we want to develop a good fast bowling unit and develop,” Morley continued.

“So not to do justice to it. I think it is also a big type of outfield. But people who have put in terms of commitment and effort, I don’t think we can make a mistake in it.”

England finished 3 at 544/7 on the day of Manchester Test at the crease with Captain Ben Stokes (77) and Liam Dawson (21). Stokes retired at 66 due to cramps, but returned to the crease after Chris Woakes was rejected.
