Rishabh Pant hurt during Lord’s Test
India’s dynamic wicketkeeper-Batter, Pants, gave a painful blow to his left index finger during England’s first innings at Lord’s. While collecting a delivery from Jasprit Bumrah in the 34th over, Pant was immediately visible discomfort and required medical treatment on the field. Although he managed to end the over, he could not continue his wicketkeeping duties and was replaced behind the stumps by Dhruv Jurlel for the remaining match.
Despite the inconvenience, the pants were on display as they batted at number 5 in both Indian innings. His importance was underlined for 112 runs for 74 runs in the first innings, even the audience said that he often takes his injured hand with the bat. Shubman Gill updated on pants injury
After the match, the captain of India Shubman Gill Gave a major update that reduced the apprehensions in the dressing room and among fans. Addressing the media at the post -match press conference, Gill said: “Rishabh went to the scan, and there is no major injury. So they should be cured for the next test.”
Gill confirmed that, while Pant was clearly in pain and interrupted during the match, the scan did not cause any serious damage.
“I think Rishabh is fine – he did not get a big hurt, which is good news. I think he should be fine for the next Test match,” Gill assured reporters.
India’s medical team is monitoring the pants, and is receiving the ongoing treatment. Nine days before the Manchester Test, the pants are expected to be completely cured and fit for selection.
Impact of pants in the ongoing test series
Possible availability of pants is important. He is currently the second highest scorer in the series, scoring 425 runs in six innings of 70.83-one will for his form and patience under pressure.
