Addressing the media at the post -match press conference, Gill said: “Rishabh went to the scan, and there is no major injury. So they should be cured for the next test.”

Gill confirmed that, while Pant was clearly in pain and interrupted during the match, the scan did not cause any serious damage.

“I think Rishabh is fine – he did not get a big hurt, which is good news. I think he should be fine for the next Test match,” Gill assured reporters.

India’s medical team is monitoring the pants, and is receiving the ongoing treatment. Nine days before the Manchester Test, the pants are expected to be completely cured and fit for selection.
