The return of the game of cricket at the Olympics has immense enthusiasm, after nearly 128 years, since it was last played at the multi-sport event.
The Games will feature both men and women’s T20 competitions, as the International Olympic Committee (IOC) confirmed the number of places and the number of participating teams for the larger program.
Each nation has been allocated a slot of every 15 members, with a 90-khiladi quota per gender permission. The schedule will be revealed before the onset of the Olympic Games at Los Angeles in 2028.

The cricket T20 format has been part of multi-game events with competitions from both men and women, which have been first held in the Asian Games in 2010, 2014 and 2023. The 2022 Commonwealth Games also included a female T20 tournament.
Decided at ICC annual meeting for cricket at Olympics
The biggest decision to be made includes the merit process and minimum age rules that need to be determined before the start of cricket in the 2028 Los Angeles Olympics.
The ICC will decide on these subjects at the annual conference, which must be held next week according to Cricbuzz. The annual meeting is scheduled to be held in 20th Singapore from 17 July.
World cricket body is targeting the players to start a minimum age requirement to be eligible to play in sports. However, no reason has been given to make such decisions, however, this is probably followed by its medical advisory committee suggestions.

It has already been declared that six teams participating in the Games will participate in the categories of either men or women. But the CEC remains to decide on the selection or identification process of these six parties in both gender categories.
