In a stunning moment during the Vitality T20 blast 2025, the Australian fast bowler relay Meeridith produced a sensational distribution, dividing a stump into half. The incident occurred during the third over of Essex’s innings. Meredith bowled a low full toss, which collapsed into Michael Pepper’s leg stump, divided into half. One was recorded in half the ground, while the other flew behind the wicket.

Somerset gave an impressive performance with the bat after Essex’s skipper Simon Hammer, which was chosen to bowl first on the batting surface in Tuntan. The top order of the Summerset removed an aggressive attack from the beginning.

Tom Kohaler-Cadmore was the best batsman for the Somerset, scored 90 off 39 balls with eight borders and seven sixes. WOW Smad added a quick 32 in 20 delivery, and Sean Dixon remained unbeaten at 28 out of 17 balls.

Essex bowlers fought to include the flow of runs. Luke Benacenstein, Paul Walter, and Charlie Bennett all won in over 12 runs per over. Summerset posted a total of 225/6 in its 20 overs.

Essex takes out for just 130 in 14.1 overs

Samarset crushed Essex to secure the 95 -run win and book the Vitality T20 Blast 2025 quarter -finals. Chasing a large scale of 226, Essex fought against the bowlers of the Summerset and was excluded for just 130 in 14.1 overs.

The bowlers with Matt Henry 4/21 were picklers, while Craig Overton (2/32) and Relay Meedith (2/22) provided concrete support. Young Noah Thanh, who scored 38 runs off just 17 balls, delayed only unavoidable.

The Samarset moved to the top of the South Group with 36 points, winning nine of his 11 matches. In contrast, Essex lives at the bottom of the table with just one win in 11 matches.
