Team India opener Yashsvi Jaiswal made a big statement after a brilliant century on the day of the first Test against England. The left -handed batsman said that he was working with a spasm in both hands during a 101 -run knock against the England bowlers in Headingly in Leeds on Friday.

During his first international match in England, Yashasvi Jaiswal seemed under full control. He had to deal with the new ball and provide a stable start for a relatively inexperienced Indian batting line-up in the early day. The young batsman added a 91 -run stand with KL Rahul in 24.5 overs to set the tone.

Yashasvi Jaiswal becomes the fifth Indian for the century in the Test innings in England.

Jaiswal began to experience cramps in his forefront during the second session, despite the relatively liberal English season. He was forced to receive on-field treatment twice, in which the team used to implement physio cold towels. Jaiswal also removed his elbow guard to stay comfortable at the crease.

Jaiswal scored 101 off 159 balls with the help of 16 fours and six. He became the only fifth Indian batsman to score in the centenary in his first Test innings on English soil, who joined the list of Vijay Manjrekar, Sandeep Patil, Sourav Ganguly and Murali Vijay.

Yashasvi Jaiswal revealed that he sprained in both hands during his innings. He credited to help the India-A tour and the intra-squad match in English in English. Jaiswal also accepted valuable guidance from Gautam Gambhir.

“I was getting cramps in both hands. Our preparation was good while playing for Bharat A and Bekenham (Intra-Squad). We were discussing about playing a long innings after getting a start. We got a lot of inputs from Gautam sir. Therefore, it was good to come and perform in a good field,” during NDTV.

“The strategy was to remove the bad balls, time and keep the shots well. I was just thinking about handling the situation, where England team was bowling in the fielders or in which areas. I was just trying to bat accordingly. I was batting according to the needs of the team,” Batter said.

India posted a total of 359 for 3 in stumps, kept England under pressure. After the centenary of Yashasvi Jaiswal, Captain Shubman Gill broke an unbeaten hundred. Rishabh Pant also remained unbeaten with half a century.
