Punjab Kings are currently at the top of the order and have dominated the IPL 2026 season with the bat. He has shown some tremendous ability with the bat, chasing a score of 265, breaking his own record from last season.
However, they have lost their winning streak since the last game after losing to Rajasthan Royals in their last home game of the season. Looking to regain their winning streak, they took on Gujarat Titans at the Narendra Modi Stadium in Ahmedabad.
However, after being sent in to bat first, the Punjab Kings batsmen continued to struggle against the GT Pacers attack. Mohammed Siraj’s accuracy and Kagiso Rabada’s raw pace troubled them, while Jason Holder once again became their key man.
PBKS fans go crazy after Suryansh Shedge’s brilliant bowling performance
When PBKS needed someone after early wickets fell. Mumbai’s lower-order batsman Suryansh Sej, who was picked by Ricky Ponting in the mega-auction but failed to perform last season, came forward for the Kings.
At one point, with the Kings having lost five wickets for just 47 runs on the board, he played a brilliant innings by scoring a half-century and contributing to a brilliant sixth-wicket partnership with Marcus Stoinis.
In the 14th over of the game, Shedge dismissed Indian spinner Manav Suthar for 26 runs. This brought some momentum to the team as the batsman hit the ball brilliantly, hitting three sixes and two fours.
