Complete madness was witnessed at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium in Jaipur when Rajasthan Royals’ young opener Vaibhav Suryavanshi devastated Sunrisers Hyderabad (SRH) with his fearless hitting. RR may have lost the match to SRH, but the 15-year-old player stole the attention and even social media trends.
Even though there were big names on both sides in the RR vs SRH IPL 2026 match, it was Vaibhav Suryavanshi who stunned everyone with his confidence, power and aggressive play and made them all look ordinary with his clean and powerful hitting.
Vaibhav Suryavanshi Wins on Hinge in RR vs SRH in IPL 2026
Left-handed Vaibhav Suryavanshi came into attack mode from the very first over. Facing Prafulla Hinge, Vaibhav hit four sixes in the very first over. This was the first time that four sixes were hit in the opening over of an IPL innings. Before this, Naman Ojha had hit three sixes against Brad Hodge in 2009.

In their last meeting, Hinz dismissed Suryavanshi early and also took three wickets in the first over. This time, the RR opener came back strong and completely turned the tables in brutal style. He was given out when he was on 32, but then he showed pure attacking cricket.
He completed his century in just 36 balls and it became one of the fastest centuries ever in IPL. Vaibhav scored 103 runs in just 37 balls with the help of 12 sixes and five fours, helping Rajasthan Royals post a mammoth score of 228 runs for 6 wickets in their first home match of the season.

After this breathtaking performance against SRH in Jaipur, Billings compared Suryavanshi to Spanish teenage football sensation Lamine Yamal. 18-year-old Yamal plays for FC Barcelona and the Spanish football team. Even at this age he is one of the best young footballers in the world.

Allan Border sees glimpse of Brian Lara in Vaibhav Suryavanshi
Meanwhile, former Australian captain Allan Border has praised Vaibhav’s strength and smart batting approach. He even saw some similarities with West Indian great Brian Lara in his style of play, but called on him to “learn how to tighten up his defence”.
Mid-Day quoted Allan Border as saying, “I think Vaibhav is an amazing player, a great talent. I have never seen any batsman at the age of 14 or 15 hit the cricket ball with so much power. Of course, I can’t predict at this point whether he will become a very successful Test cricketer or not, but I can clearly see glimpses of Brian Lara in him. He has a long way to go, but he will definitely hit that ball all over the ground. Can hit in parts.”
