There have been reports that Imran Khan has lost his eyesight inside Adiala jail, which has caused serious international concern. 14 former international cricket captains, including Sunil Gavaskar, sent a formal appeal to the Pakistan government, urging fair treatment of the Pakistan cricket legend.
Imran has reportedly lost about 85 percent of the vision in his right eye. This development has intensified the debate, with critics suggesting that opponents may be quietly killed rather than openly silenced. Khan has said that he has been suffering from blurred vision for several months, which has raised concerns about his health.

Greg Chappell writes petition after concerns over Imran Khan’s health
Former Australia captain Greg Chappell decided to write a petition after reports emerged about Imran Khan’s deteriorating health in Rawalpindi’s Adiala jail. Imran has been in jail for a little more than two years following corruption charges.
“Recent reports concerning his health – particularly the alarming deterioration of his vision while in custody – and the conditions of his confinement over the past two and a half years have caused us deep concern,” the former captains wrote.
“As fellow cricketers who understand the values of fair play, honor and respect beyond the boundary lines, we believe that a person like Imran Khan should be treated with the same respect and basic human consideration as a former national leader and a global sporting icon.”
What they are doing to him is terrible – Sunil Gavaskar
Sunil Gavaskar expressed strong concern over the treatment being meted out to Imran Khan. He said the situation is dire and their relationship goes beyond on-field rivalry.
Gavaskar said, “It’s terrible what they’re doing to him. We’ve been friends since he was trying to qualify for Worcestershire as an overseas player, not just as an opponent on the field.”
