Bollywood actress Khushi Mukherjee has landed in controversy after her comments on India’s T20 captain Suryakumar Yadav. According to reports, Mumbai-based social media influencer Faizan Ansari has reportedly filed a defamation suit of Rs 100 crore against the actress, further escalating the controversy.
In an interview given to Kiddan.com last month, Khushi had said that Suryakumar Yadav used to send her messages earlier. After the comment went viral, Mukherjee addressed the issue again in an interview with News24, where he clarified that they were only good friends and denied any romantic relationship.

According to a report in Times of India, Faizan Ansari filed a complaint against Khushi Mukherjee at the Ghazipur police station, accusing her of damaging the image of Suryakumar Yadav.
In a video of the media interaction posted on his X account, Ansari said that Mukherjee’s allegations were false. He said that is why he traveled to Ghazipur to lodge the FIR.
Ansari said, “I know her very well. She lives in Mumbai. She has falsely accused Suryakumar Yadav, who is the pride of India, Uttar Pradesh and Ghazipur. The truth is that even Suryakumar’s watchman does not know Khushi Mukherjee. That is why I have come to Ghazipur today to lodge an FIR.”

Faizan Ansari also said that Khushi Mukherjee should be given strict punishment, he demanded a jail sentence of at least seven years. Ansari said that he himself is ready to face legal action if he can prove his claims.
“If Khushi Mukherjee proves her claims, I am ready to face legal proceedings. She is spreading lies that Suryakumar Yadav used to message her on WhatsApp. This is a publicity stunt.” He said.

Suryakumar Yadav is set to captain India in the 2026 T20 World Cup, starting on February 7. Before the global tournament, the Men in Blue will host New Zealand in a five-match T20I series starting on January 21.
Suryakumar Yadav faces tough 2025 with the bat in T20Is
Suryakumar enjoyed a great IPL 2025 with Mumbai Indians (MI). He was their top scorer with 717 runs in 16 matches at an average of 65.18 and a strike rate of 167.91, which included five half-centuries.
However, he failed to continue that form into the T20Is. In the Asia Cup 2025, he scored 72 runs in six innings at an average of 18.00 and a strike rate of 101.40. On the Australia tour, he scored 84 runs in four innings at an average of 28.00 and a strike rate of 171.42.
In the home series against South Africa, he added 34 runs in four innings. Overall, Suryakumar finished 2025 with 218 runs in 19 T20I innings at an average of 13.62 and a strike rate of 123.16, without scoring a single half-century.
